Corsair has developed a new way to tokenize the recycling process. By creating CSR tokens, the environmental benefits of recycled plastics are measured and traded transparently.
The CSR market enables individuals, companies and organizations to reduce their ecological footprint by acquiring CSR tokens that support the recycling and processing of plastic waste. This creates incentives for increased investment in recycling infrastructure and helps combat plastic waste pollution worldwide.
For every 1 kilogram of plastic waste that Corsair removes from the environment, the company issues 10 CSR Plastic Credits. The process is stored and recorded using open-source, Ethereum blockchain technology to provide utmost transparency and public accountability.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) defines a Plastic Credit as a „transferable unit representing a specific quantity of plastic that has been collected and possibly recycled from the environment.“
The CSR Plastic Credit by Corsair does exactly this, allowing both companies and individuals to offset any amount of plastic waste they generate by acquiring and retiring the equivalent amount of CSR Plastic Credits. By doing that, they receive certification as „plastic neutral“.
